In this year’s ICIS Top 100 Chemical Distributors ranking, Centro-chem placed 95th among European distributors and 187th globally, improving on last year’s result. However, the ranking position alone does not tell the full story. What matters more is what this result reflects.

What Is the ICIS Ranking?

The ICIS Top Chemical Distributors ranking is an annual report compiled by ICIS, one of the chemical industry’s leading market intelligence providers, in cooperation with the European Association of Chemical Distributors (FECC). It covers more than 300 companies worldwide and ranks them based on sales performance data. Inclusion in the ranking requires a substantial operational scale.

What Does a Company’s Ranking Position Reveal?

Choosing a distributor ultimately comes down to the reliability of the chemical raw materials supply chain. The required material must be available when it is needed-not only in stable market conditions, but also when disruptions affect manufacturers, transport or import regulations.

A position in the ICIS ranking is an external, verifiable indicator that a company has the resources and infrastructure needed to maintain continuity of supply in a changing market environment. These capabilities are not visible in a product catalogue—they become apparent only when a raw material suddenly becomes unavailable.

What Drove Centro-chem’s Rise in the Ranking?

In recent years, Centro-chem has consistently expanded its operational capabilities. Today, these include over 25,000 tonnes of total storage capacity, an in-house ADR-compliant fleet, two customs warehouses, and ISO 9001, ISO 45001, HACCP, GMP+, AEO and EcoVadis certifications and ratings.

The company also benefits from a diversified supplier network across multiple markets and an expanding geographical reach. This progress is the result of the combined efforts of the entire team—from sales and procurement to logistics and warehousing—and the ICIS ranking reflects that work in measurable terms.
